Who may qualify?

Property uses: Commercial, Industrial / manufacturing, Nonprofit, Public / institutional, Agriculture

  • Confirm service from a listed municipal electric utility; a mailing address in the community does not establish eligibility. Nearby cooperatives and other providers are separate.
  • Existing lighting only; new construction, added fixtures and facility additions are excluded. New equipment must be installed at the existing eligible premise; streetlights are excluded.
  • Provide W-9, purchase evidence and signed installation verification, including municipal utility approval. The form calls for licensed-contractor verification but its process also mentions qualified in-house staff; confirm an in-house installation arrangement with MEAN before work.

Before you purchase or start work

Obtain signed MEAN preauthorization before installation. Both installation and application materials are due within 90 days of approval. Discuss the project and purchasing sequence with the utility before committing costs.

Can this be combined with other funding?

The application does not establish a general right to stack incentives. Disclose other rebates and confirm combined funding and cost limits with MEAN and the local utility.
