Who we are

EnergyzedWorld is a publication of Eenovators Limited, a registered company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya with offices in Uganda, Tanzania, and the United States. We can be contacted at [email protected].

What we collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the blog, serve relevant advertising, and respond to inquiries.

  • Analytics data — when you choose “Allow analytics,” Google Analytics 4 measures page views, referring sites and campaigns, approximate location, device information, scrolling, outbound link clicks, supported embedded-video engagement, and file downloads. It uses first-party cookie identifiers. Analytics does not load before that choice. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, contact-form contents, or compliance-checker search addresses to Analytics; general URL query strings and fragments are removed from page-view URLs. Limited campaign labels are retained for attribution. Site-search and automatic form-interaction measurement are disabled.
  • Newsletter subscription — if you subscribe via the form on this site or via Substack, we collect your email address. Substack's own privacy practices apply to the newsletter side; see substack.com/privacy.
  • Contact and lead-form submissions — name, email, and the message you send when filling in a contact or "get an audit" form.
  • Compliance checker (/check) — the address you search is processed in your browser against public lists and is not sent to us unless you submit one of the checker's forms. If you do, we receive your name, email, optional phone and role, the address, and the result shown, and store them in our CRM (Zoho) to reply and to follow up once. Public building data shown by the checker comes from the jurisdictions named on each result.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider (DigitalOcean) keeps standard HTTP access logs including IP address and user-agent, retained for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.

Advertising — Google AdSense

This site is monetized in part by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Alternatively, you may opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
  • Google manages advertising consent messages for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland on pages that serve ads. Advertising choices are separate from the site's Analytics preferences.

We link Google Analytics with AdSense to understand how readership relates to advertising performance. Google processes data under its Privacy Policy; see how Google uses information from partner sites. Google may process data outside your country. Google Signals and advertising personalization signals are disabled in our Analytics tag.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Preferences — we store your Analytics choice in your browser for up to 180 days.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics cookies, including _ga, help distinguish visits after you opt in. You can change your choice using “Analytics preferences” at the bottom of any page. Declining stops future Analytics collection and removes this site’s Analytics cookies. We also respect the Global Privacy Control signal by not loading Analytics.
  • Advertising — Google AdSense may set cookies as described above; you can manage these via your browser settings and the opt-out links provided.

How we use your information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the blog.
  • To respond to your inquiries (contact form / lead form).
  • To send you the newsletter you have explicitly subscribed to (and only that — we don't sell, rent, or share your email).
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Data retention

  • Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form submissions: retained for up to 24 months for follow-up.
  • Server logs: typically 30–90 days at our hosting provider.
  • Analytics data: Google processes event data and cookie identifiers to produce traffic and engagement reports. Withdrawing consent stops future collection; it does not automatically erase previously collected data. Contact us for data-related requests.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR including portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter where appropriate.
